Shearing Contractors 

Emily and Sam Welch run a successful shearing business in partnership with Tony Clayton-Greene In the North Western Waikato. Clayton-Greene and Welch Shearing will employ 50 staff this season and has a policy of supporting and training young people interested in working in the shearing industry. 

Emily achieved the title of Women’s World 9 Hour Lamb Shearing record holder in 2007. Her tally of 648 lambs remains unchallenged.

Sam and Stacy Te Huia set a new 2 stand 9 hour ewe record in January, 2012 in Bennydale.  The new record of 1341 beat the previous 16 year old record by 6 sheep.
